"Maurice Sendak, widely considered the most important children’s book artist of the 20th century..." died Tuesday in Danbury, Conn. at the age of 83. Sendak wrote and illustrated more than a dozen children's' books including "Where the Wild Things Are" which was also made into major motion picture. He also illustrated the "Little Bear" series that was made into a widely popular television show.
